School OrganisationAt present Nungurner School is operating as a two class’s school with P-3, 4-6 with all students working together in the two rooms. What ever class arrangement we feel that it is important that each student be able to progress at his or her own ability, so to this end activities are aimed at your child’s individual level rather than solely a grade level. We envisage a similar structure in 2006
The composite grade idea has worked extremely well and has fostered a very cohesive and supportive atmosphere in the school. Older students support the younger students, younger students have the opportunity to work with older students and students have a varied group of peers to work with.
We strive to foster a family atmosphere by encouraging all students to be caring and helpful towards others. At this stage we envisage having 28 children at the beginning of 2003 with the potential to grow further. School Hours
Term Dates Click to Check the Education department for school dates
Students should not be at school before 8.30 in the morning. Teachers are usually there from 8.00am but this time is for preparation and meetings. If you need to drop your children at school before this time please contact the teachers beforehand so that arrangements may be made.
It is very important that students arrive at school on time. Late arrivals upset the routine of the class and of the person who is late. Students need to be at school between 8.30am and 8.50am.
It would also be appreciated if children could be picked up on time at the end of the day. Teachers often have meetings after school at other locations and have to leave soon after school ends.
Staff need to be notified of any changes to the normal after school arrangements. Students will not be permitted to travel with other people or to walk to someone else’s house unless you have notified us beforehand. |
