UniformUniform is compulsory for four days of the week with Wednesday being a day where students may choose to wear other outfits. A copy of the uniform policy is attached. Uniform items may be purchased from the school with a number of payment options available. Our uniform gives an entity to our school and is very reasonably priced and of top quality, importantly the children like wearing our school colours. Hats are compulsory for students during Term 1 and Term 4. Uniform PolicySchool Uniform Policy Devised: 1995 This policy was instigated by Junior School Council and has been supported by staff, School Council and the PFA. The Aims: · to provide a sense of teamship and unity; · to provide a non-discriminatory dress code; · to allow the outside community to positively identify Nungurner students Implementation: 1. As listed in the school charter it is expected that students wear complete school uniform for four days of the week, for all school excursions and for any special events from the beginning of the 1996 school year. 2. The out-of-uniform day will be decided on an annual basis in consultation with the Junior School Council, PFA, staff and School Council. 3. The out-of-uniform day is set aside to allow the washing of uniforms and students to have a free choice day. 4. It is expected that clothes worn on the out-if uniform day will be SUNSAFE and appropriate for school. 5. Contact from parents is expected if a student is unable to wear uniform on any of the uniform days. 6. Parents may be called to provide uniform if students attend school out of uniform. 7. In the case that parents are not able to be contacted a uniform from lost property will be provided for the day. 8. Uniforms may be ordered through the PFA. Normally orders will be placed in December and June. 9. A screen print of the school emblem will be available to those people who wish to print the emblem onto items bought elsewhere. 10. If the purchasing of school uniform is causing financial problems options such as “layby” and part payment options may be used. 11. A set of school hats will be kept at school to be worn on school excursions. While there is no prescribed footwear it is requested that shoes be appropriate for the types of activities done at school, that they fit comfortably and are safe. Please note that thongs and scuff type shoes should not be worn for safety reasons. Students are expected to wear a hat during terms 1 and 4 and on other hot days. Evaluation: The uniform policy will be evaluated annually by Junior School Council, PFA, School Council and staff in consultation with the school community. Evaluation will take into account the reliability of product satisfaction of the supplier, the design of the uniform and any problems that may have occurred over the past year.
