Camps & Excursions

Camps and excursions form a very important part of the school program.  It is important that that all students participate as these activities are usually organised to supplement or enhance class programs with classwork being done before and after the event. Grade 6 students no go on a Cluster Doxa Camp to Melbourne whilst every 2 years students may be able to go to a Cluster Somers Camp. In 2007 we hope to do a joint camp with Swan Reach Primary School to Canberra.

Costs are kept to a minimum with subsidies where applicable.

Newsletter
The newsletter is our main way of relaying information.  This is prepared and sent home usually on a weekly basis so please ransack your child’s bag to retrieve it.  It is important to read this newsletter as it contains news of coming events, changes to school programs, permission forms etc. We would appreciate the return of permission forms directly to our Business Manager, Vicki Fraser when requested.  Any queries regarding costs and permission forms can be addressed by all staff. We welcome your input and invite you to contribute to our Newsletter

Book Club

You have the opportunity to purchase reasonably priced books from Ashton Scholastic. This book-club offers books to suit students from pre-school to secondary school with a computer software section also available. Order forms are sent home once a month with the newsletter. Di Forrest will continue to co-ordinate this area in 2007.

Education Maintenance Allowance

Families holding a current Commonwealth Healthcare card on the first day of terms 1 & 3 are entitled to the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). This allowance is paid in two installments throughout the year. You are able to nominate where this amount is used. Options include subsidising the swimming program or the cost of the camp, are among choices offered to parents.
